About the event
Help us plant some trees!
For the second year in a row, SmartEvals is holding a tree planting event in Ripley, NY, and Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy is co-sponsoring and participating in the event. The goal is to help reforest 32 acres of land along Route 5 in Ripley, and ultimately, have this forest certified as a wildlife habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. This effort began last year and resulted in the planting of 1,200 trees at the site, with this year’s goal aiming to plant 2,000 additional trees there over the course of two Saturdays. This is a great way to celebrate Earth Day this year!
The plantings will take place on Saturday, April 22nd (Earth Day!) from 9am to 2pm and also on Saturday, April 29th from 9am to 2pm. Volunteers will meet at 9146 NY-5 in Ripley. (Look for vehicles parked along the side of the road there.) All volunteers will be given lunch and a t-shirt.
Anyone interested in signing up to volunteer can do so by emailing SmartEvals at letsplanttrees@smartevals.com or the Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy at info@chautauquawatershed.org, or by calling the Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy at 716-664-2166 x1001.
