Landscape professionals and municipal officials play important roles in building awareness of and implementing environmentally friendly landscapes to benefit people, wildlife, and water quality.
On Tuesday, October 24th, we’re offering a sustainable landscape workshop that will include both classroom and field sessions appropriate for landscape designers, landscape architects, landscape contractors, architects, planners, stormwater professionals, municipal leaders, public works staff, engineers, horticulturists, plant growers/nursery staff, arborists, foresters, and others.
In the workshop, you’ll learn more about the connections between landscape practices, the economy, and watershed health. The workshop will explore four broad topics:
- Why Watersheds Matter: Economy & Ecology
- Conservation Landscaping with Native Plants
- Managing Stormwater Sustainability
- Landscape Maintenance Practices
Light morning refreshments and lunch are included. CEUs will be available for landscape professionals.
This workshop is being organized by the Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy, in partnership with the Chesapeake Conservation Landscaping Council, and hosted at the Chautauqua Institution.
