RTPI Plein Air Festival

Calling all local painters!

Roger Tory Peterson Institute is holding a Plein Air Festival where you can paint in beautiful outdoor locations - including Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy nature preserves! Other sites include Roger Tory Peterson Institute (host), Jamestown Riverwalk, Audubon Community Nature Center, and Johnson Estate Winery.

Following two days of outdoor painting on September 14th and 15th, artists are invited to display their completed works at a “wet paint sale” on September 16th at RTPI. All paintings submitted to the show will be entered into a judged plein air painting competition, with awards given out during the closing reception on the 16th from 5-7 PM. All artwork submitted to the show will also be considered for an exhibition of plein air paintings at RTPI, to be held in the Fall of 2023 through Spring of 2024.
