About the event

Join us for an invasive plant removal “show-and-tell” event! Invasive plants can cause damage to both the surrounding ecosystem and to your property. They can also be hard to get rid of, and different plants can sometimes call for different methods of removal to be effective. On September 19th at 10AM, we’ll be doing some invasive plant removal at our McCray-Peckinpaugh Preserve in Westfield where we’ll be targeting Japanese knotweed, Asian honeysuckle, multiflora rose, privet and Japanese barberry. Join Mike Catanese from ArborWild Environmental and our Director of Conservation, Twan Leenders, who will show you how to properly treat and remove these invasive plants and also answer any questions you may have on them or other invasives.

Meet at the NYSDEC fisherman’s parking lot at 8328 West Lake Road in Westfield, NY.

(Rain Date: Thursday, September 21st at 10AM)
