About the event
EDIT 5/10/24: THE 2PM WILDFLOWER WALK IS FULL. IF YOU ARE STILL INTERESTED, WE CAN ADD YOUR NAME TO A WAIT LIST, OR YOU CAN ATTEND THE WALK BEING HELD AT NOON.
Join us for our annual Mother’s Day Wildflower Walk on Sunday, May 12th at 2pm at the Bentley Nature Preserve!
Local naturalist Jack Gulvin will lead the walk and seek out flowers, ferns, and other natural treasures commonly encountered in the region in springtime. The walk will follow the beautiful Pamela A. Westrom Wildflower Trail, a picturesque loop trail that traverses foot bridges over a stream that weaves through the property.
The preserve is located on Bentley Avenue (just off Fluvanna Avenue Extension/Route 430) in Jamestown. Participants should dress for the weather and possible wet or muddy conditions typical of a wooded wetland.
Space is limited, and advance registration is required. To reserve a spot, call 716-664-2166 x1001 or email info@chautauquawatershed.org with a number of participants and a contact name and phone number.
(Please note there are two walk times to choose from - noon and 2pm.)
